Electrical Installation and Integration of a Krones Glass Bottling Line

Complete power, control, and communication installation for a Coca-Cola glass bottling line equipped with Krones technology in Guatemala.

Client
Coca-Cola
Country
Guatemala

STAR completed the electrical installation and integration of a Coca-Cola glass bottling line equipped with Krones technology. The project covered the infrastructure required to power, control, and communicate with the different machines involved in the process, from the wet area through the extensive bottle conveyor network and packaging stages.

The line configuration required continuous electrical infrastructure across multiple machines, conveyors, cabinets, and field devices. Cable routes were planned to follow the equipment layout and maintain orderly connections between the different systems involved in the bottling process.

As part of the execution, STAR installed conduits, cable trays, and supports to protect and distribute power, control, and communication wiring. The work included elevated routes, connections installed directly on machinery, and branches supplying equipment located at different levels and plant areas.

Power and control cabinets were also installed and integrated to distribute the electrical supplies and signals associated with each equipment group. The work included routing, organizing, identifying, terminating, and connecting conductors according to the Krones electrical drawings and diagrams.

The installation covered motors, drives, sensors, and field devices associated with the conveyors and bottling machinery. Industrial communication connections were implemented in parallel to integrate the equipment with its corresponding control systems.

The project extended across the wet area, the bottle transportation network, and the packaging stations. Each stage was integrated into a single electrical infrastructure, maintaining continuity between cabinets, machines, sensors, motors, and product movement systems.

The scale of the project required coordination between electrical routes, metal structures, conveyors, machinery, and work areas with different access conditions. As a result, the line was equipped with an organized electrical installation adapted to its configuration and integrating the power, control, and communication systems required for coordinated process operation.

Scope of work

Technical execution organized by work fronts, with focus on installation, coordination and commissioning.

  1. 01Review and interpretation of electrical drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation for the Krones machinery.
  2. 02Planning of electrical routes according to the glass bottling line layout.
  3. 03Installation of conduits for power, control, and communication systems.
  4. 04Fabrication and installation of supports for cable trays, conduits, and electrical components.
  5. 05Installation of elevated routes and wiring distribution across different line levels.
  6. 06Installation and integration of power and control cabinets.
  7. 07Routing of wiring between cabinets, machines, conveyors, and field devices.
  8. 08Organization, identification, termination, and connection of electrical conductors.
  9. 09Installation of power supply and distribution circuits.
  10. 10Integration of control wiring between the different line machines.
  11. 11Implementation of industrial communication connections.
  12. 12Electrical connection of motors, drives, and auxiliary equipment.
  13. 13Connection of sensors and field devices.
  14. 14Electrical installation of equipment located in the wet area.
  15. 15Integration of the conveyor network used to transport glass bottles.
  16. 16Electrical installation of equipment associated with packaging operations.
  17. 17Connections inside cabinets, electrical enclosures, motors, sensors, and machinery.
  18. 18Coordination of the installation with metal structures, conveyors, and mechanical systems.
Result

The project delivered the complete electrical installation of the Krones glass bottling line, interconnecting the different process stages through organized power, control, and communication systems. The implemented infrastructure integrated cabinets, motors, sensors, conveyors, and packaging equipment into a continuous solution adapted to the scale and configuration of the machinery.
