ALPLA required the integration of a new 400 HP AF high-pressure compressor into its industrial infrastructure. The project combined electrical, mechanical, and piping work to install a large-capacity machine inside a technical room that already contained operating equipment, structures, and plant services.
The work began with the planning of the rigging operations required to move, position, and secure the compressor at its final location. Due to the equipment's size and weight, chain hoists, slings, chains, and controlled support points were used to manage each movement safely within the available space.
A new 480 V feeder with 500 kcmil conductors was installed to provide the required power. The electrical scope included cable trays, supports, conductor routing, terminal preparation, and connections between the Siemens distribution panels and the 400 HP motor. Current transformers were also incorporated to provide electrical metering and support equipment monitoring.
The installation was completed with the control connections, piping interconnections, and integration of the compressor with the plant's existing services. Coordination between the different disciplines resulted in an organized installation that remains accessible for maintenance and adapted to ALPLA's actual operating conditions.
